About Us

The concert band ODDdechovka was founded in September 2014 at the Václav Talich Music School in Beroun, Czechia, by Štěpán Med and Vladislav Šebek. It is composed of current and former students of the Woodwind and Brass Department, along with percussionists and bass guitar players.

The repertoire consists mainly of film and musical soundtracks, but also ranges from classical compositions to modern pop music. The orchestra’s mission is to motivate and teach young musicians how to perform in an ensemble and to prepare them for future amateur or professional musical careers.

Some of the orchestra’s highlights include regular collaboration with its in-house choir Krákorky as well as with other ensembles from across the Czech Republic. Its experience spans from small concerts in its hometown of Beroun and national competitions to the international festival Euro Musiktage Bösel in 2024.

Among ODDdechovka’s achievements are gold awards in district competitions in 2017 and 2024, a series of concerts in both Beroun and German Goslar with the Symphonic Orchestra of Ratsgymnasium Goslar, and second place at the aforementioned Euro Musiktage Bösel 2024.
